- 4:00 PM1hCCAM Seminar Series - Dr. John HickeyCCAM Seminar Series Speaker: Dr. John Hickey, Assistant Professor, Biomedical Engineering, Duke University Title: "Transforming pixels to pathways: spatial-omics across biological scales" Abstract: Advancements in single-cell multiplexed imaging such as spatial-omics coupled with sophisticated computational algorithms have greatly augmented our views into complex tissue microenvironments at the single cell level. In this seminar, I will present the approaches we have developed to deconstruct intricate tissue datasets and connect them across scales from molecular to multicell modules. Particularly, I will share three vignettes of cell organizational rules we found within 1] the healthy human intestine, 2] progression from metaplasia to cancer in Barrett's esophagus, and 3] melanomas treated with effective and ineffective T cell therapies.
