- Dec 1010:00 AMNathan Chase Doctoral Dissertation Proposal DefenseJohn Christensen, Ph.D., Department of Communication, Major AdvisorSaraswathi Bellur, Ph.D., Department of Communication, Associate AdvisorRory McGloin, Ph.D., Department of Communication, Associate AdvisorKenneth Lachlan, Ph.D., Department of Communication, Associate Advisor Abstract The current proposed dissertation explores the impact of various information sources (Financial Influencer, Robo-Advisor, and others) on one's investment portfolio risk, and the mediating role FOMO plays in this relationship. Additional message strategies will be investigated (gain vs. loss, and process vs. outcome framing) in order to understand what type of messaging will result in the highest portfolio risk scores, and how portfolio risk mitigating strategies can be developed. An advanced metric for calculating portfolio risk known as the Risk Index Factor (RIF) is developed, which is the primary dependent variable of both Study 1 and 2. Two experiments will be conducted, separated into two studies. Practical and theoretical implications of anticipated results of the studies are discussed.

This weekly group is for students adjusting to coping with chronic health conditions in a university setting. This is a safe space for students to share their experiences and support each other in managing their health while also managing the challenges of college life. This group is a joint effort between medical and mental health services to ensure that students are cared for in a complete and holistic manner.'
