The UConn School of Medicine Walk with a Doc (WWAD) is part of the national WWAD organization and we host a monthly walk in West Hartford, CT that is preceded by a brief talk about a common health issue by a community physician. To join our walks, simply come to Elizabeth Park Pond House in West Hartford, CT at 9am on the third Saturday of the month. We welcome people of all ages, the topics of conversation lead by the physician that month implicate patients of a wide range. We are also very welcoming of our four-legged friends, the park is very popular for dogs and we love when people bring theirs!

Our mission is to create a space where participants can explore the challenges of assimilation, reclaim their narratives, and embrace the diversity within the pan-ethnic Asian American experience. We encourage participants to be visible with their hyphenated identities, cultivating pride and agency in their multifaceted journeys. Through thought-provoking discussions, interactive sessions, and collaborative engagement, we aim to inspire pride, agency, and deeper connections that strengthen the sense of community and shared purpose in redefining what it means to be Asian American today.
