- DescriptionCourse: In-Person Project Management Professional (PMP)Course Description: The Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification Prep course is an extensive program designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills essential for effective project management. It covers a comprehensive range of topics that form the basis of the PMP® exam content outline, from fundamental concepts like understanding what a project is, to more complex subjects such as risk, procurement, and Stakeholder management. Starting with an introduction to project management, learners will gain insights into the Project life cycle, the roles and responsibilities of a project manager, and contemporary trends in project management, including Agile considerations. The course is divided into modules that address how to create high-performing teams, initiate projects with strong governance, and execute work while keeping the team on track and maintaining a focus on the business context. Each module delves into critical areas such as scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, communication, risk, procurement, and Stakeholder management. By understanding these facets, learners can effectively manage projects in various organizational structures and environments. Steven is an accomplished Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB) and Program Manager with extensive experience in project management, process improvement, and strategic execution. With a career spanning government agencies and Fortune 500 companies, he specializes in program management, leading cross-functional teams, implementing enterprise-wide continuous process improvement (CPI) initiatives, and optimizing business operations. He currently serves as a Program Manager and MBB Team Lead supporting the National Guard Bureau in enhancing operational efficiency and establishing a lean culture. His previous roles include leadership positions at Intellect Solutions (DISA JSP), Calibre Systems (U.S. Army), IBM Global Business Services, Accenture, and Bombardier Aerospace, where he managed high-impact projects, business transformation initiatives, and strategic planning efforts. Steven holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma (MBB), DoD Acquisition Program Management (Level III), and Defense Financial Management. He has a strong background in data analytics, change management, project management and IT transformation, with expertise in tools like Tableau, Visio, and Minitab. Only small snacks and drinks are allowed in the training room. Note that on Saturdays our café and bookstore are closed.
