Wednesday, November 19, 2025 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM
  • Location
    McHugh Hall
  • Description
The Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at UConn will host renowned Indian Zoroastrian poet and literary critic Hoshang Merchant on November 19, 2025, for a talk on "Radical Love and Literary Resistance." Merchant will reflect on love as a revolutionary force, one that defies boundaries, resists silence, and speaks truth through literary resistance. Drawing on South Asian literary traditions and his lifelong engagement with queer thought, he will explore how words become acts of courage in turbulent times. The event invites all who believe in the power of art and empathy to imagine a transformed world shaped not by fear, but by radical love.
