Do you know UConn Extension? UConn Extension is the outreach department of the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources (CAHNR). Located in 8 county Extension Centers and at UConn Avery Point, Extension strengthens communities and provides experiential education and resources to CT citizens. This "Exploring Extension" Pop-up Event will allow UConn students to learn about career opportunities via Extension and the ONE Health Initiative to improve human, animal, plant, and environmental health and sustainability.

Rebecca Bellovin (University of Connecticut) will speak about Characterizing perfectoid covers of abelian varietiesAbstract: Perfectoid spaces have emerged as a key tool in \(p\)-adic Hodge theory over the past decade, generalizing earlier ideas due to people like Fontaine and Wintenberger. I will discuss some history and applications of this circle of ideas, before talking about recent work characterizing perfectoid covers of certain abelian varieties. This is joint work with Hanlin Cai and Sean Howe.
