Mustafa Rfat, a PhD student and refugee with disabilities, will share his journey from Iraq to the U.S., detailing the structural oppression he encountered and the ways in which current refugee resettlement systems fall short in addressing the needs of refugees with disabilities. The discussion will also focus on the urgent need for more inclusive policies and programs that promote equity and self-sufficiency for this marginalized group.
