IWEM WORKSHOP -APPLICATION IS OPEN NOW TILL SEPTEMBER 25TH INSPIRING WOMEN IN ENGINEERING AND MEDICINE We are excited to announce an upcoming IWEM workshop Saturday, Oct. 11, at the UConn Musculoskeletal Institute (MSI). At the Inspiring Women in Engineering & Medicine (IWEM) workshop, we are committed to exposing young women to the rewarding fields of medicine and engineering. In a time where women comprise such a small fraction of the workforce in these fields, IWEM creates an opportunity for women to experience and appreciate what these male-dominated professions entail. We aim to inspire hope in these young women by providing an unparalleled experience in these fields. We strive to recruit high school students from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds into our program to equip them with the excitement, knowledge, and mentorship necessary to pursue careers in these fields. IWEM is a FREE, four-hour, hands-on workshop for high school women interested in pursuing careers in Medicine or Engineering. We are currently seeking applicants for our UConn Health program. Participants should be female or nonbinary students in grades 10+ with an expressed interest in science, medicine, and/or engineering. We would appreciate it if you could spread the word to any high school students you may know.Applicants can complete our online application from Sept. 15 throughthe application deadline, Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. The IWEM workshop has limited capacity, so applicants should not delay.Access the IWEM application directly.
