A'liyah Thomas Earns Women's Big East Field Athlete of the Week Honors
STORRS, Conn. - The BIG EAST Conference announced Wednesday afternoon junior A'liyah Thomas as Women's BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week.
At the UConn Dog Fight Invite last weekend, Thomas placed first in both the long jump and the 100-meter hurdles. In the long jump, Thomas leaped a 6.46m mark, which is 16th best in the nation. Also, in the hurdles Thomas ran a 13.54 time which is tied for 78th best nationally.
Thomas next competes at the Jesse Owens Classic Meet on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 19.
