Liam McNeeley Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
NEW YORK – UConn men's basketball freshman Liam McNeeley has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Nov. 18). It is the first weekly conference honor for McNeeley.
In UConn's lone contest of the week, McNeeley scored 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting and knocked down a trio of 3-pointers in a rout of Le Moyne. He added three rebounds, a block and a steal in 32 minutes of action and was a +27.
McNeeley is off to a solid start to his freshman season, ranking second on the squad in both scoring (14.3 ppg) and rebounding (8.0 rpg). The BIG EAST Preseason Freshman of the Year is shooting 48.1 percent from the floor and 41.2 from 3-point range through three contests.
The Huskies are back in action on Tuesday when they host East Texas A&M at Gampel Pavilion for a 7 p.m. tip on FS1.
