Huskies Hire Brad Robbins as New Quarterbacks Coach
STORRS, Conn. - UConn head football coach Jim Mora has announced the addition of Brad Robbins to his coaching staff. Robbins will join the Huskies as the team's new quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.
Robbins joins the Huskies are spending the 2023 season as a member of the Tennessee Tech staff as the pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach.
Before working in the Golden Eagles offense, Robbins spend three seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at North Greenville University. His 2022 offense average 403 yards per-game and 5.9 yards per play while averaging 27.0 points per game while facing the third toughest ranked schedule in Division II. Quarterback Dylan Ramierz set school records for passing yards (2,570), total yards (2,800) and touchdowns accounted for (28) as a freshman. Running back Corey Watkins had over 1,000 yards rushing, becoming the first player at NGU to hit the century mark since 2016.
He spent the 2018 season at Charleston Southern where he coached the wide receivers and served as the director of community service. Robbins spent the 2013 through 2017 seasons working on the offensive staff at Virginia Military Institute. While at VMI, he worked primarily with the wide receivers and tight ends. He helped develop and coach four All-Southern conference wideouts/tight ends during his time and helped coach an offense that ranked 21st nationally in passing yards in 2014. He added special teams coordinator duties to his responsibilities in 2017.
Robbins is a 2010 graduate of The University of Virginia's College at Wise with a degree in business administration. He was a 2018 inductee into the school's Hall of Fame after a playing career where he was a first team All-Mid South Conference selection at quarterback in 2009 and a 2009 second team NAIA All-American at DH in baseball. He is the school record holder for career home runs, doubles and batting average.
Robbins began his coaching career at the University of Virginia where he was an assistant recruiting coordinator in 2010 and then a graduate assistant working with the linebackers and safeties. He earned his master's degree in student affairs in higher education.
