Trask "Secondary Effects" by Jeff Ostergren Join us for a reception Thursday, May 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Celeste LeWitt Gallery. (north side of the food court)Martha G. Trask is an expressive mixed media artist who happens to work in our library.Jeff Ostergren infuses his paint with actual medications to tell stories about the intertwined histories of pharmaceuticals and color.

Douglass Rice. Open Air 2025 is open daily and will remain on view through October 6, 2025. June 19, 2025 iis the last day to visit indoor art exhibitions. Exhibitions inside the AVS Gallery will resume on September 11, 2025

Seating space will be first come, first served. In case of rain, the shows will take place in the Ballard Institute Theater at 1 Royce Circle in Downtown Storrs. - 1:00 PM4hMega Mammal Day!The day will feature exhibits of skulls, taxidermy, and other Museum specimens, as well as scavenger hunts, crafts, and games for all ages! Whole specimens on display will include rare mammals from around the world and one of New England's largest moose. Discover how the diet of mammals is related to the kind of teeth they have and follow animal tracks to learn to identify different types of animal poop. Visitors will also learn about the extinct mammals that lived right here in Connecticut not that long ago and see portions of a preserved mastodon discovered in Farmington! Plus, our friends at the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry (http://) will be there with a mammal-inspired mask-making workshop AND folks can check out books (or get a library card) from the Mansfield (https://www.mansfieldpubliclibraryct.org/2525/Public-Library)Public (https://www.mansfieldpubliclibraryct.org/2525/Public-Library)Library (https://www.mansfieldpubliclibraryct.org/2525/Public-Library) on site.
