UConn Health Only Hospital in CT Most Likely Recommended by Patients
The patient experience at UConn Health is top ranked in Connecticut. UConn John Dempsey Hospital is the only hospital in the state to be most likely recommended by patients according to the latest patient survey data released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
UConn’s teaching hospital has the highest five stars in Connecticut patient recommendations. The latest quarterly data released is based on 2023 survey data collected from hospital patients. The recommended hospital star rating is based on patient survey responses to questions like, “Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family?”
“We are so proud as Connecticut’s public academic medical center to once again be the only hospital in the state of Connecticut to receive a 5-star rating for this reporting period,” applauds Tamara Cardoso of UConn Health’s Office of Patient Experience where she serves as Patient Experience Performance Improvement Specialist.
This December Becker’s Hospital Review also released and showcased their compiled list of the hospitals patients are most likely to recommend nationally across every state with UConn John Dempsey Hospital as the only one in Connecticut listed.
Becker’s complied data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) from CMS. CMS HCAHPS Summary Star Ratings are based on publicly reported HCAHPS measures. Hospitals must have at least 100 completed HCAHPS surveys in a fourth-quarter period to be eligible for a star rating.
