All other podiatrists, nurses, nurse practitioners, residents, students, and greater Hartford dermatologists are encouraged to attend. Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):Recognize key psychocutaneous disorders and understand the critical role of establishing patient rapport prior to initiating treatment recommendations or psychiatric referrals. Identify common barriers to applying evidence-based practices, including limited formal training or confidence among psychiatrists and dermatologists in managing psychocutaneous conditions, inadequate interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient resistance to psychiatric referrals for dermatologic complaints. Describe strategies to facilitate implementation of best practices and overcome these barriers, such as establishing formal consultation-liaison services or developing integrated multidisciplinary psychodermatology clinics.
