Explain how Bb EAC can aid in data gathering for program or Common Curriculum assessment activities 2. Describe how to align assessments in HuskyCT with program learning objectives 3. Describe reporting options available through Bb EAC Description Blackboard Education Assessment Corporation EAC (Bb EAC) Visual Data is an assessment and reporting tool integrated with HuskyCT. The software can pull data from assessments administered in HuskyCT and provide statistical reporting information. Instructors can leverage data on student performance to advance student learning. Academic programs can use aggregated data for assessment reports. This introduction to Bb EAC will touch on how to align assessments to program learning objectives, use aggregated data for assessment reports, and perform juried review. Peer Support Drop-In Hours are a great option for students who have questions about sex and sexual health, are looking for a non-judgmental, laid-back environment to discuss a sex related concern or issue, or are interested in improving their sexual health and personal well-being. The Sexperts are trained to provide education, support, and connection to resources on and off-campus on a wide variety of topics pertaining to sex, sexual health, and relationships. Fall 2025 Drop In Hours: September 15th – December 5thMonday: 12pm-4pm Tuesday: 9am-6:30pm Wednesday: 11:15am-6pm Thursday: 11am-5:30pm Friday: 10:30am-5:30pm Sexperts (and supervising staff) are designated confidential employees under UConn's Title IX Reporting Obligations. Peer support sessions are for educational and support purposes only. Peer support visits are not on-call or emergency services, and are not for individualized medical advice, nor are they counseling or therapy. If you can't make the times listed, or would prefer to schedule an appointment with a staff sex educator, please reach out to Program Manager for Sexual Health and Peer Education Initiatives, Cassy Setzler, at cassy@uconn.edu (mailto:cassy@uconn.edu) For more information, visit: studenthealth.uconn.edu/sexperts (https://studenthealth.uconn.edu/sexperts) or email cassy@uconn.edu (mailto:cassy@uconn.edu)

- Oct 1011:00 AMAnalysis and Probability Seminar, Spectrum, Lifshitz tails and localization for the Anderson model on the Sierpinski gasket graph, Shiwen Zhang (University of Massachusetts at Lowell)Abstract: There is a rich physics literature on the Anderson model and other random Hamiltonians on fractals, but comparatively little has been developed in the mathematics literature. In this talk, we study the Anderson model on the Sierpinski gasket graph, a canonical example of a fractal. We begin by identifying the almost-sure spectrum of the model when the support of the random potential has no gaps. We then establish the existence of the integrated density of states and show that it exhibits Lifshitz tails, with a Lifshitz exponent determined by the ratio of the volume growth rate to the random walk dimension of the Sierpinski gasket. Furthermore, we show that the Lifshitz-tail upper bound implies localization of eigenfunctions near the bottom of the spectrum, using the fractal moments method under the assumption that the random distribution is regular. If time permits, we will also discuss open questions concerning full localization of the Anderson model on the gasket lattice, as well as how the metal–insulator transition depends on the dimension of a general fractal graph.
- Oct 1011:00 AMDoctoral Dissertation Oral Defense of James DiCairanoAbstract The current media landscape enables individuals to seek out content in distinct ways, including newspapers, social media, and websites. When consuming said content, these individuals may be exposed to persuasive messaging, which seeks to change or reinforce their attitudes on a given topic. Furthermore, their evaluation of candidates, issues, and ideology may be affected as well as their knowledge and participation. Therefore, with Information Processing Theory and Media Dependency Theory as theoretical frameworks, this study sought to understand how reliance on 27 media sources affected individuals during the 2024 presidential election. Participants were recruited through Prolific, completed a Qualtrics-hosted online survey, and randomly assigned to one of two experimental treatments involving tweets from Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. Source reliance revolved around bias and length with the reliance on left- and right-leaning media affecting participation but none impacting knowledge. Issue importance and voting were predicted by right leaning and short-form media, while three tweets from Kamala Harris led to greater agreement. This study's findings further our understanding of how digital and traditional media affect the actions and thinking of voters. The behaviors, feelings, and thoughts of voters as well as theoretical implications are discussed, while areas for future research are provided.
