Chloe Thomas Wrapped up Track & Field Championships with School Record in Eugene

2024 NCAA Track & Field Championships Final Results 

EUGENE, Ore. - University of Connecticut track runner Chloe Thomas rounded out the final day at the NCAA championships Saturday, June 8 at Hayward Field.  

Thomas placed 12th in the 5,000 meters, breaking her previous school record mark from earlier in the season with a time of 15:34.48. She earned second team all-American with that result making that the second Husky as second team all-American at NCAAs. That also makes it the first Husky to make second team all-American honors since 2018.

Another great season for UConn track & field wrapped up in record-breaking fashion. 


At NCAA Championships 

For the men: 

Diarmuid O'Connor in decathlon; finished day 1 in 9th place (4,047 points), PR in decathlon SP (9th, 13.99m), completed decathlon with 7,546 points 13th place out of 24 best mark was 2nd in decathlon 1500 meters with a time of 4:24.21 

Travis Snyder in PV (20th, 5.07m) 

For the women: 

A'liyah Thomas in LJ (19th, 6.16m) 

PR for Chloe Thomas in 5,000m (12th,15:34.48)
