Huskies Showed Out at NCAA East First Round Qualifiers
NCAA East First Round Final Results
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's track and field teams showed out at the 2024 track & field east first round qualifiers in Lexington for the four-day competition at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Facility.
Four Huskies qualified for the track & field championships on June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore., after four days of competition. Diarmuid O'Connor qualified in the decathlon to start the week with a total score of 7,610 points at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. Then, Travis Snyder glided his way to a spot at nationals in the pole vault with a mark of 5.42 meters (17' 9.25"). The next day, A'liyah Thomas placed third in the long jump and qualified for a nationals spot with a mark of 6.31 meters (20' 8.5"). To round out the east qualifiers, Chloe Thomas qualified for a nationals spot in the 5,000m with a time of 15:37.96.
UConn will head to the 2024 track and field championships in Oregon on June 5-8.
