Huskies Set for Wildcats Matchup
STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's lacrosse team (5-5, 1-1) are set to host the Villanova Wildcats (5-6, 1-1) on Wednesday in a 12:00pm conference game. This is designated as the Pride game for the Huskies.
UConn is coming off a BIG EAST win over the Marquette Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies rolled past the Golden Eagles in a 17-7 decision as Rayea Davis led the offense with five goals and five assists, totaling a career-high 10 points. It was a season-high defensive showing for the Huskies as well, causing 17 turnovers and recording 26 ground balls. Davis was named BIG EAST Attacker of the Week for her efforts, along with her teammates Rylee Brown and Landyn White, who were awarded Midfielder of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
The Huskies are 11-2 all-time against the Wildcats as they look to post another conference win on Wednesday. Villanova is coming off a BIG EAST win versus Butler last weekend after falling in their conference opener game to Georgetown. Sydney Pappas had five goals in the win over the Bulldogs, while Rose Christie was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.
Opening draw is set for 12:00pm, a time change from the original 1:00pm, at Morrone Stadium and can be streamed on FloSports.
