Huskies Wrap Up Regular Season with Strong Results at Arturo Barrios Invitational

Arturo Barrios Invitational Final Results 

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of Connecticut women's cross country team wrapped up their final regular season race with strong results to be proud of Friday morning at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Watts Cross Country Course. 

In the 6k race, the women competed in a 42-team field among 387 finishers. The Huskies finished off the day with a final team score of 215 points, placing them fifth overall. Utah Valley topped the leaderboard with an impressive 97 points.  

Individually, Chloe Thomas led the Huskies with another strong performance, finishing in seventh place with a personal best time of 19:49.5. That made it her third consecutive race with a personal record and her third consecutive top 7 finish. Then, seconds later Jenna Zydanowicz would cross the finish line with a strong 11th-place result running a personal best time of 19:57.7.  

Caroline Towle also broke a personal record to place 34th with a time of 20:25.1. Next across the finish line would be Malin Rahm as Rahm closed out her first regular season for the Huskies with a 60th-place finish and a strong 20:47.7 time. Also breaking a personal best was Rachael Woodruff as Woodruff took 107th place running a time of 21:16.4. 

The Huskies next look into the postseason as the BIG EAST Championships will get underway on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Kenosha, Wis, at Wayne Dannehl Course for the 6k race.
