STORRS, Conn.- Looking to follow up an impressive performance at the Paul Short Run last weekend, UConn Cross Country heads up north to Hopkinton, New Hampshire, as the Huskies race in the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup hosted by Franklin Pierce University on Friday, October 11th.
UConn is fresh off an excellent program-wide performance, as they took second place as a team in the 6K race on Saturday, placing three runners in the top nine. The Huskies were led by USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week Chloe Thomas, who also took home her second BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week award. Thomas took first place by over thirty seconds, setting her second consecutive course record in the process with a 6K time of 19:23.8. Jenna Zyndanowicz and Caroline Towle ran strong races as well to boost the Huskies to their second place finish. Towle, Chloe Trudel, and Loghan Hughes all set PRs last weekend.
