Huskies Set for Providence Friar Invitational

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's cross country program gets underway at the Providence Friar Invitational on Friday, Sep. 8 in Providence, R.I.  

The women's 5k race will feature Stonybrook, New Hampshire, and Providence as nine runners will take the course. 

The Huskies are looking to continue their strong performances from last week at the Suffolk Short Course Classic. UConn won the team title along with individual performances to note. Freshman Malin Rahm took second with the leading time for the Huskies running a blistering 10:48.6 result in the 3k race. Then, sophomore Chloe Trudel would take fourth with a time of 10:55.9. Junior Rachael Woodruff would also take fifth with a solid 10:59.7 time. On the day, the Huskies finished second, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh place to total 24 points. 

The men will also compete at the Friar Invitational in the 8k race with seven runners on the course. 

The women will toe the line at 3:15 p.m. and the men will run after the women at 4:30 p.m.
