Chloe Thomas Wins BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week

STORRS, Conn.- UConn women's cross country senior Chloe Thomas was named BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Thomas earned the award on the heels of her standout performance on Friday morning at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, winning the women's 6000M Individual race with a time of 19:51.8. Thomas led the Huskies to a fourth place team finish against a very competitive field, defeating the second-place runner from host Penn State by 12 seconds. The senior from Dundas, Ontario secured the fourth-fastest time in the history of the historically challenging Blue-White Golf Course at Penn State. With the the time of 19:51.8, Thomas set the Spiked Shoe Meet record by over 29 seconds.
