Track & Field Conclude Weekend at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- UConn track & field concluded three days of competition at the 129th Penn Relays on Saturday afternoon.
Women's Field:
- Natalia Surdej (Lancaster, NY) finished 6th in the college women's hammer throw championship Thursday with a throw of 58.67m.
- Maresa Hense (Germany) finished 5th in the women's long jump championship at 5.88m.
Men's Field:
- Travis Roux (Northport, NY) finished 6th in the college men's hammer throw on Thursday at 59.82m. Alex Krause (Coventry, Conn.) took 10th at 57.87m.
- Roux also set a personal best in the discus at 52.19m.
- Marc Morrison (Orlando, Fla.) took home 4th in the long jump on Saturday at 7.47m. Kasey Savage (Horsham, Pa.) finished 6th at 7.41m.
- Patrick Oatman (Amston, Conn.) cleared 5.00m in the pole vault to crack the all-time program top 10.
Women's Track:
- Jessica Starr (Cobalt, Conn.) set a new personal best in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.56, the 2nd best time in program history.
- Jenna Zydanowicz (West Hartford, Conn.) set a new personal best in the 1500m with a time of 4:18.03, the 3rd fastest time in outdoor program history
- Sarah Trainor (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) set a new personal best in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:05.46, the 2nd fastest time in program history.
- Chloe Trudel (Amherst, N.H.) set a personal best in the 5000m with a time of 16:34.51.
- The DMR team of Malin Rahm (Schaffhausen, Switzerland), Caroline Rice (Saint Johns, Fla.), Calista Mayer (Tolland, Conn.) and Faith Kiplimo (Eldoret, Kenya) put together a strong performance in the event, running a time of 11:26.62, the 2nd fastest time in program history.
- The SMR team of Audrey Kozak (Shelton, Conn.), Mackenzie Braunstein (Willimantic, Conn.), Gabby Davis (Franklin Park, N.J.) and Rice cracked the all time program top 10 with time of 4:05.07
Men's Track:
- Griffin Mandirola (Suffield, Conn.) set a new personal best in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:56.08, the 5th fastest time in program history
- Brendan Kovar (Rockaway, N.J. Mekhi Stone (Smyrna, Ga.) Del Lindsay (Jersey City, NJ), and OJ Singletary (Rochester, N.Y.) ran 3:09.66 in the 4x400m race, the 3rd fastest time in program history.
- Terell Williams (Maplewood, NJ) finished fourth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 13.96.

The Penn relays 2025 didn't disappoint! We had an amazing weekend, with so many break through performances and top 10 marks for our history books.
