UConn Invitational This Weekend On Campus
STORRS, Conn. – The UConn tennis team returns home to campus this weekend to host the UConn Invitational from Friday, September 13 to Sunday September 15 on the UConn Tennis Courts. The Huskies will welcome in fellow Connecticut schools Wesleyan and Sacred Heart, as well as Bryant, Fordham, and Army.
This weekend, the 2024 UConn Invitational in Storrs will use the blind dual match format and will have the following match-ups:
Friday, September 13
- 10 am UConn vs Wesleyan
- 12:45 pm Sacred Heart vs Bryant
- 3:30 pm Fordham vs Army
Saturday, September 14
- 9am Sacred Heart vs Army
- 11:45 am UConn vs Fordham
- 2:30pm Wesleyan vs Bryant
Sunday, September 15
- 9am Fordham vs Bryant
- 11:45 am UConn vs Army
- 2:30pm- Sacred Heart vs Wesleyan
The Huskies got their season started last weekend in the Quinnipiac Invitational. UConn dominated in doubles play with a 10-1 mark on the weekend during blind dual match play and finished up singles with a combined mark of 13-5.
Senior Olivia Wright led the UConn contingent with a perfect weekend, winning all three singles matches and pairing with classmate Maria Constantinou for three doubles wins. Freshman Chloe Lomans had a sparkling collegiate debut with a perfect weekend as well. Lomans won her three singles matches and teamed with sophomore Victoria Matos on three doubles wins.
