WTEN Set for Senior Day Match Against Seton Hall
STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set to face Seton Hall at their home indoor courts at Magic Lincer Tennis Club in Manchester, Conn., in their final match of the regular season. The senior day ceremony is set to begin at 2:40 p.m. ET.
The Huskies enter the matchup 11-7 overall and 3-3 in BIG EAST play. Last time out, UConn bested Villanova 4-3 on Sunday, April 7 on the road. Junior Maria Constantinou won Conference Singles Player of the Week going 3-0 all last week at the second singles spot winning against UMass, Georgetown, and Villanova. Constantinou leads the team in singles with an 11-5 record. Junior Isabel Petri Bere and freshman Caroline Hinshaw have been successful at the second doubles position with the team-best record of 12-6.
Scouting Seton Hall
Heading into the matchup, the Pirates are 8-10 overall and 1-5 in conference play. Last time out, Seton Hall fell to Villanova 5-2 on Tuesday, April 9. This match against the Huskies will be their last match of the regular season also. Leading the way this season has been the play from Aina Plana Ventosa with an impressive 12-2 singles record.
UConn faced Seton Hall last season winning 4-0. The Huskies are 10-0 all-time against the Pirates.
