Maria Constantinou Awarded BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - The BIG EAST Conference announced Monday afternoon junior Maria Constantinou as BIG EAST Women's Singles Player of the Week.

Constantinou went 3-0 this past week with wins over UMass, Georgetown, and Villanova with a 4-3 clinch against UMass on Wednesday, April 3. 

"Maria has been playing great singles these past several weeks," said tennis head coach Glenn Marshall. "Her level of play and competitiveness is rising from week to week and the whole team can feed off of her energy on the court."

Constantinou at the second singles position now stand with an impressive singles record of 11-5 (team-best).Constantinou also has played very well with junior teammate Olivia Wright at the first doubles spot also with three wins this past week. They now stand at 9-4.

The Huskies next will play at home for the last match of the season in Storrs for senior day against Seton Hall on Friday, April 12.
