Huskies Set For Showdown Against Pirates in BIG EAST Quarterfinals
STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's tennis team begins their quest for a BIG EAST Championship Friday April 17 as they take on Seton Hall University. The no.1 vs. no.9 seed matchup is set to begin at 9am.
The quarterfinal matchup will be the second matchup this season between the Huskies and Pirates. These two teams faced off Feb. 7 in South Orange New Jersey which resulted in a 4-0 victory for UConn. The Huskies finished off their season with a 15-4 overall record and a 9-1 record in conference action both of which set new program records. Following the completion of the regular season, UConn secured the no.1 seed in the BIG EAST tournament by unanimous decision and received a bye into the quarterfinal matchup.
No. 9 seed Seton Hall kept their season alive by beating no. 8 Creighton Thursday morning. The Pirates finished their season with a 12-11 overall record and a 1-6 record in conference action.
