Huskies Close Regular Season in Convincing Fashion With Win vs. St. Johns

MANCHESTER, Conn. – The UConn women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 4-3 win over St. Johns. With the win, the Huskies finish the regular season with a 15-4 overall record and a 9-1 record in BIG EAST action, the best records in program history.

The Huskies started the match strong securing points in the double's matchups with wins in no.1 and no.2 doubles. The duos of Olivia Wright and Victoria Matos and Isabel Petri Bere and Chloe Lomans dominated the doubles matchups with a 6-1 win for Wright and Matos and a 6-0 win for Petri Bere and Lomans.

The Huskies carried the momentum from doubles into their singles matchups as they secured wins from Olivia Wright, Victoria Matos and Cameron Didion to secure the 4-3 victory Sunday afternoon. Wright fought hard in a three-set match while Victoria Matos and Cameron Didion dominated with two set wins in their single matchups.

The Huskies will await their seeding for the BIG EAST tournament as postseason play will begin this upcoming week.
