Huskies Slip Past Villanova on the Road Sunday
VILLANOVA, Pa. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team took a 4-3 win over Villanova on the road Sunday afternoon.
The Huskies are now 11-7 overall and 3-3 in BIG EAST action. Once again, another close match this weekend for the Huskies, except this time UConn worked it into its favor early in the match. In doubles play, the Huskies earned the doubles point with wins at the second and then first doubles spots. Then, in singles play, UConn put together three straight singles points early at the fifth, second, and sixth singles positions to give UConn the automatic clinch for the match.
"4-3 matches all weekend; we got the W thankfully," said tennis head coach Glenn Marshall.
First year Isabella Asenov clinched the match for the Huskies at the sixth singles position putting up a straight-set win going 6-2, 6-4. Asenov is now 7-7 at the sixth singles spot.

The Huskies next gear up for the final match of the season on senior day on Friday, April 12 against Seton Hall at the Storrs Tennis Courts.
