Huskies Dominate Milwaukee
ORLANDO, Florida - The UConn women's tennis team wrapped up their trip to Orlando Florida with a dominating 5-1 win over Milwaukee. With the win, the Huskies finished their week 2-0 with a conference win and a non-conference win.
The Huskies faced adversity to start, only securing a win in one of the three doubles matches, but bounced back for wins in five of the six singles, and were set up to win the final singles matchup but that match went unfinished. Olivia Wright and Victoria Matos secured the lone win for the Huskies in no. 1 doubles while Olivia Wright, Victoria Matos, Cameron Didion, Isabella Asenov and Chloe Lomans all secured wins in singles.
"This was a good win over Milwaukee today," said head coach Glenn Marshall. "We came out a bit sluggish in doubles, and dropped the doubles point by a tiebreaker in the no.2 doubles match. In singles, we really got off to a good start on all courts, which we needed to jumpstart our energy. The momentum continued in our favor as Olivia, Vicky, Bella, Chloe, and Cam all secured wins. Overall, I was pleased with how we responded after our doubles and played more to our potential in singles."
