WTEN Prepares for Georgetown Saturday

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set to face Georgetown on the road in College Park, Md., on Saturday. 

The Huskies enter the matchup with a 10-6 overall record and a 2-2 BIG EAST record. Last time out, UConn squeezed by UMass with a 4-3 win on Wednesday, April 3. Junior Maria Constantinou led the way, clinching the final match at second singles going 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Constantinou now has a 9-5 singles record, and 7-4 doubles record with teammate Olivia Wright playing at the first doubles position.  

Scouting Georgetown 

Heading into the matchup, the Hoyas are 6-11 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Last time out, Georgetown won a 4-3 decision over Marquette on Saturday, March 23. Leading the way for the Hoyas is Emily Novikov with an 8-3 singles record playing at the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles positions. Chloe Bendetti and Katie Garofolo-Ro has collected an 8-7 doubles record playing at the first and second doubles spots.  

The Huskies faced the Hoyas last season losing in a close match, 4-3. UConn currently holds a 2-5 all-time matchup record against Georgetown.
