UConn Set for West Point Invite
STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set for the West Point Invite this weekend from Sept. 22-24 at Malek Tennis Center in West Point, N.Y.
The Huskies will compete again after a successful two-week home stand in the fall season as 16 teams will be featured in the three-day invitational including Sacred Heart, Villanova, Quinnipiac, Stony Brook, Fairfield, Marist, Fordham, Cornell, Colgate, Hofstra, Rider, Binghamton, Bryant, Army West Point, Fairleigh Dickinson, and New Jersey Institue of Technology. Several singles flights and doubles flights will be set for the competition.
UConn has gone 53-16 over its last two tournaments this season. Olivia Wright at the first singles position and Maria Constantinou at the second singles position have both carried strong singles records, going undefeated through two tournaments and facing six different teams.
UConn will begin play on Friday, Sept. 22 with flights announced for singles and doubles. Results will be updated on ITA. Find results here: ITA / (wearecollegetennis.com)
