The next batter, Kaitlyn Breslin drove in Higa with a sac fly to center field. Breslin now has 15 runs batted in her last four games.
UConn put the game out of reach for Creighton in the fourth inning, scoring three more runs, giving the Huskies an 8-0 cushion. Higa added a two-run homer to her already impressive day at the plate, her second long ball of the season, giving her a career high four runs batted in. Later in the inning, Ring drove in her second run of the game with a single to left field, scoring Breslin from third base. Ring now has three multi-RBI games in her last four starts.
