Softball has thirteen game win streak snapped at Butler
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The UConn softball team fell in the series finale to Butler, 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Hallie Siems got the nod in the series finale making her 14th start of the season in the circle. She went 4.2 innings giving up only one run on four hits with five strikeouts.
Butler took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a sacrifice fly.
UConn tied the game in the sixth inning off the bat of Lexi Hastings. The junior singled to right field, scoring Kaitlyn Kibling from second base.
Meghan O'Neil came on in relief for Siems in the fifth inning. O'Neil finished out the game in the circle going 2.0 innings giving up one run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Butler won the game in the bottom of the seventh on a walk-off sacrifice fly, snapping the Huskies thirteen game winning streak.
