WSOC Hosts BIG EAST Quarterfinals Against Butler
STORRS, Conn. - The No. 3 seeded UConn women's soccer team (9-3-5, 6-1-3 BIG EAST) opens the postseason with a home BIG EAST Quarterfinal match against No. 6 seeded Butler on Sunday, October 29 at 1 p.m. at Morrone Stadium.
The Huskies are riding a season-high three game win streak and have been unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 matches (6-1-4).
The UConn defense has been special this season, currently ranked in a tie for fourth nationally with a .412 goals against average and tied for seventh with 11 shutouts this season.
The Huskies offense ranks fourth in the BIG EAST with 28 goals scored this season and are second in the league with 16.71 shots per game.
Just ahead of them in goals with 29 is the Butler Bulldogs. Norah Jacomen is third in the BIG EAST with eight goals this season and is fourth with 17 points.
These two teams played to a 0-0 draw two weeks ago in Indianapolis.
UConn is seeking its first win against Butler with an 0-4-1 all-time record against the Bulldogs.
The Huskies enter Sunday's match with a 6-1-3 record at Morrone Stadium this year.
