WSOC hits the road for first time at UNH

DURHAM, N.H. - The UConn women's soccer team (0-1-1) hits the road for the first time in 2024 with a trip to the University of New Hampshire (2-0-1) on Sunday, August 25 at 2 p.m.

Admission is free at Wildcat Stadium and for those that can't make it, the game can be seen on ESPN+.

The Huskies are seeking their first win of the season after a draw vs. Vermont (2-2) and dropped their first game of the season vs. Wisconsin (1-2) on Thursday. 

Freshman Naia Ocio (Bilbao, Spain) scored her first career goal against the Badgers. Ocio joins Chioma Okafor and Abbey Jones with tallies this season.

New Hampshire is coming off a draw on the road at ACC foe, Louisville, on Thursday. The Wildcats scored victories against Stonehill and Holy Cross during the first week of the year.

Delaney Lappin leads the team with three goals while Meghan Guarente has added two goals. 

Sunday's meeting will be the 19th in a series that dates back to 1979. The Huskies own a 17-1 mark against the Wildcats including a 2-0 victory last season. Brooke Walonis scored her first career goal in the win and Jessica Mazo added the other tally.
