Rowing Shines in Knecht Cup
The University of Connecticut Rowing Team found success Sunday in the Knect Cup in its sole day of competition. Saturday's races had been canceled due to high winds. Sunday's races were also affected, consisting of finals only for the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, and Varsity 4. The Huskies advanced to finals for the 2V8, finishing 5/22, and the 3V8 finishing third.
From Head Coach Jen Sanford, "It was great to be able to race today after Saturdays cancellation. Overall, I'm happy with how we performed, as it showed we are right in the mix with a lot of fast crews. We are getting more confident in the process and will continue to raise the bar related to what our potential is. Next weekend we have the opportunity to race more fast teams in Worcester so we will set some goals for practice this week and see how we can match up against BC, Holy Cross, MIT, and Sacred Heart next Saturday."
Up Next - The Huskies take the water on Saturday, April 20 at the Holy Cross Invitational.
