UConn Rowing Finishes Strong at Stetson Invitational
The UConn women's rowing team finished a solid week of training in Deland, Florida racing at the Stetson Invitational Regatta. UConn had 6 boats racing, and 5 out of 6 boats came away with a win.
Coach Sanford commented "I'm very happy with the teams performance today. Going from being indoors all winter, to coming down here for spring break rowing four hours a day for six days in a row then racing on Friday and Saturday, we put the pedal to the metal, figuring out a lot in a very short period of time. Our boats took the miles of training from the week and their race experience on Friday and put together solid performances today. I am very pleased with where we are as we head back to Storrs. We have a lot of room for improvement with more water time, and the mindset of the team is very strong.
UConn also competed at UCF on Friday with Jacksonville, and UCF had a clean sweep of the regatta.
Up Next: UConn Rowing will compete again on March 29 at home versus Marist and Sacred Heart.
