STORRS, Conn. - The UConn Women's Lacrosse team announced their captains for the 2024-2025 year on Thursday, July 25th. The captains are graduate student attacker #31 Eliza Bowman, and senior defender #4 Riley Daly.
#31 Eliza Bowman
Bowman appeared in all 18 games for the Huskies in 2024, scoring 28 goals overall. Bowman notched consecutive 4-goal performances against Xavier on 4/6, and Albany on 4/13. Prior to transferring to UConn, the Darien, Conn. native played two seasons at Johns Hopkins University. While at Johns Hopkins, Bowman scored 11 goals and was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. Bowman was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2022 and 2023 and was all Academic All-Big Ten in 2022 & 2023.
#4 Riley Daly
The senior defender from Ipswich, Mass. has appeared in 32 games over three years at UConn, starting in all 18 as a junior in the 2024 season. This past season, Daly recorded 32 ground balls, caused 21 turnovers, and controlled 43 draws. This breakout season led to Daly being named to the IWLCA Northeast All-Region Second Team and was a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection.
The Huskies will start their 2025 season in February, with a schedule announcement coming soon.
