Huskies Set for Big East Semifinal

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The No.2 UConn women's lacrosse team is set for another matchup with the No.3 Georgetown Hoyas in the semifinal BIG EAST conference tournament game on Thursday, May 2nd. The tournament is hosted by Xavier University and opening draw for the No.2 vs No.3 matchup is set for 4:00pm EST.

The Huskies are coming off a final regular season win over the Hoyas, where the tournament seeding was determined based upon which team won the game. With UConn being the victor, they claimed the No.2 spot, while Georgetown fell to No.3 in BIG EAST play. The Huskies edged out the Hoyas, 9-8, to take the win in Washington, D.C. just four days ago.

The Huskies were in the BIG EAST tournament in 2023, defeating the Marquette Golden Eagles in the semi-final game to advance to the championship game against Denver, where they ultimately fell. UConn has now clinched a BIG EAST tournament spot for the eighth time in program history.

Should they advance, the Huskies will take on the winner of the No.1 Denver and No.4 Villanova game on Saturday, May 4th at 12:00pm EST in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The semifinal game can be streamed on FloSports.
