Lacrosse Names Frederick Associate Head Coach

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn Women's Lacrosse program named assistant coach, Katie Frederick, as associate head coach on Tuesday afternoon. Frederick came to UConn in August of 2021 after a coaching stint at Coastal Carolina.

During her time here, she has coached a two-time BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year in Landyn White, who also ranks as the number 1 goalkeeper in the nation in total saves for the 2023 season. White was named an ILWomen All-American Honorable Mention, USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention, IWLCA Second Team, and to the BIG EAST All-Tournament team after the spring season. Frederick coached six all-conference defenders and has played a significant role in back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances for the Huskies.

When asked about Frederick, Head Coach Katie Woods said, "Katie has been an instrumental member of the success of our program since she started here in 2021. We're excited for the future with her as an associate head coach!"

Prior to coaching, Frederick had a standout four-year playing career at Ohio State where she captained the team. During that time, Ohio State racked up 45 wins, earned the program's highest national ranking (#8) and made two NCAA Tournament appearances
