McGrogan and Daly Secure BIG EAST Weekly Awards
STORRS, Conn.- Eve McGrogan and Riley Daly secured BIG EAST Attacker and Defensive Player of the Week respectively, the conference announced on Monday.
McGrogan scored the game-winning goal in overtime on Saturday afternoon, her third goal of the game to lift the Huskies to a victory in their first game of the 2025 season. The sophomore's three goals were a career-high, the first multi-goal game for McGrogan in a Husky uniform.
Daly had a career day for the Huskies, with 11 draw controls in the win over Drexel, registering a ground ball and causing a turnover as well. Daly, the BIG EAST Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, has already notched one-quarter of her season total in draw controls from 2024 (43).
Of Note: Rayea Davis made the Weekly Honor Roll for the Huskies after firing in three goals and recording one assist. Davis had a team-high nine shots in the victory on Saturday.
