Huskies Earn First Bid Into NCAA Tournament
STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team will be heading to the Ohio State Regional to take on Minnesota Duluth in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies and Bulldogs will face-off on Thursday, March 14 at 7 pm from OSU Ice Rink with the winner moving on to face No. 1 overall seed Ohio State on Saturday, March 16.
This is the Huskies first ever bid to the NCAA tournament. UConn claimed their first Hockey East Tournament crown Saturday after defeating Northeastern 1-0 in overtime Saturday afternoon at Toscano Family Ice Forum.
Duluth finished the season with a 20-13-4 overall record and a 15-11-2 record in WCHA action. The Huskies finished the season with a program record of 25-7-5 and a 19-4-4 record in Hockey East action.
