Huskies Set to Open 24-25 Season Against No. 2/3 Minnesota
STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team is set to kick off their 2024-25 season at home in a two game series with No. 2/3 Minnesota beginning on Friday, September 27. Tickets are available HERE.
The Huskies are coming off an historical 25 win season a year ago, winning the Hockey East regular season and tournament crown, earning a bid into the NCAA Tournament, all for the first time in program history. Head coach Chris MacKenzie returns much of his roster from a season ago, including All-Conference selections Tia Chan, Jada Habisch, and Ashley Allard. UConn also welcomes an incoming class of five freshmen and a grad transfer, Sophie Robinson from Dartmouth.
The Huskies return most of their offensive firepower from a season ago. Habisch once again looks to be one of the Huskies top goal scorers, while sophomore Ashley Allard looks to build off a successful rookie season. Picked to finish first in the Hockey East preseason poll, the Huskies will look to repeat as Hockey East champions.
Scouting Minnesota

The Huskies played a two game series at Minnesota last year, losing both games by two goals in each game. Minnesota is led by redshirt senior Abbey Murphy who was a top ten finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award a season ago.
Puck drop between the Huskies and Golden Gophers is set for 6:00pm on Friday, September 27, and 3:00pm on Saturday, September 28. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
