#16 Huskies Back in Action Thursday against Brown
STORRS, Conn. – The no.16 UConn women's field hockey team is back in action Thursday afternoon for a non-conference matchup against Brown University. Matchup is set to begin at 4pm and can be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Huskies are coming off another 2-0 weekend which included wins over Cornell and no.9 Rutgers. After moving to 4-0 on the season, the Huskies found themselves in the rankings, jumping from unranked all the way to 16. The Huskies latest win over no.9 Rutgers came down to the wire as junior Sol Simone scored the game winner with 30 seconds remaining in the game. The Huskies continue to receive contributions from across their roster, but leading the way is freshman Juul Sauer who has scored in all four games for UConn including two games with two goals.
Brown enters Thursday's matchup winless. They are coming off a regulation loss to UMass Lowell and a shootout loss to Boston University. Despite the record, Brown has scored four goals in two games from four different athletes.
The matchup between the Huskies and Bears will be the 11 all time, with UConn holding a 9-1 overall record. The last matchup came in 2002 with UConn winning 3-1.
