Huskies Set for 2024 BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship

STORRS, Conn. -  The UConn women's field hockey team is set to begin the BIG EAST tournament with a matchup against Liberty University Friday afternoon. UConn is the no.1 seed heading into the tournament while Liberty is the no.4 seed. The match is set to begin at 1pm and can be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network and Flo Sports.

The Huskies enter the post season after posting a 15-3 overall record and a 6-1 record in conference action. Following the completion of the regular season, conference awards were announced, and the Huskies were well represented. Out of the six major awards, the Huskies were picked in five of them. Freshman Juul Sauer won Freshman and Offensive Player of the year, Sol Simone was named Midfielder of the Year, Natalie McKenna was named Goalkeeper of the Year, and then the staff of head coach, Paul Caddy, associate head coach Sarah Mansfield-Lahl, and assistant coach Chrissy Davidson-Arisco was named Coaching Staff of the year.

The Huskies and flames have already faced off once again this season, which ended in a 2-1 overtime win for the Huskies. Liberty finished the regular season with a 10-7 overall record and a 4-3 record in conference action. The Flames finished the regular season with a 6-0 win over Georgetown University.
