Bueckers Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

HARTFORD, Conn. – UConn women's basketball redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was selected as the BIG EAST Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

In two games last week, Bueckers averaged 24.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 61.1 percent.

Against No. 8 Notre Dame, Bueckers scored 25 points and added three rebounds, two assists and two steals. In the Huskies' BIG EAST opener vs. Georgetown, she scored 24 points on 11-16 shooting and added two rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals.

This season, Bueckers leads the Huskies with 20.0 points per game, 42 assists and 23 steals.

This is the third time this season Bueckers has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week (Nov. 18, Dec. 2).

The Huskies face No. 18 Iowa State (8-3) in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase on Tuesday at Mohegan Sun. The game will tip at 8:30 p.m. on FS1.
