Fudd Earns National Weekly Honors
STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's basketball graduate student Azzi Fudd earned Naismith Women's College Player of the Week and USBWA Women's National Player of the Week honors after leading the Huskies to a pair of wins last week.
Fudd was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday.
Fudd averaged 31.0 points per game last week on a .545.583 shooting split.
Against St. John's, Fudd set a career high with 34 points and eight three pointers. She shot 13-22 from the field and 8-14 from three against the Red Storm and added two steals.
In a win over then-No. 4 South Carolina, Fudd scored 28 points while shooting 50 percent from the field and 6-for-10 from three. She also grabbed a season-high five rebounds.
In UConn's last five games, Fudd is averaging 20.4 points per game and shooting 63.2 percent from three.
Fudd currently ranks third nationally with a 48.2 three-point field goal percentage.
No. 5 UConn (24-3, 14-0 BIG EAST) is back on the road at Seton Hall (18-7, 10-4) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on SNY.
