No. 7 UConn to Face No. 4 South Carolina Sunday
STORRS, Conn. – The No. 7 UConn women's basketball team (23-3) travels to No. 4 South Carolina (23-2) Sunday at 1 p.m. The game will air on ABC and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9). Sunday's game will also stream live on ESPN+ and Disney+.
ESPN's College GameDay will air a two-hour show leading into the game. The show will begin at 11 a.m. on ESPN then switch to ABC at noon.
Graduate student Azzi Fudd scored a career-high 34 points to lead UConn past St. John's, 78-40, on Wednesday. Fudd also had a career-high eight three pointers. Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers had 16 points on 6-8 shooting and six rebounds, four assists, five blocks and four steals vs. the Red Storm.
UConn is 9-5 all-time vs. South Carolina. The Gamecocks have won the last four meetings between the teams. UConn assistant coach Tonya Cardoza and South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley were teammates for three seasons at Virginia.
South Carolina is coming off a 101-63 win over Florida on Thursday. Joyce Edwards leads the Gamecocks with 12.3 points per game this season. South Carolina leads the nation with 42.0 bench points per game. Staley is in her 17th season at South Carolina.
