SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – UConn women's basketball redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was selected as one of five finalists for the 2025 Nancy Lieberman Award, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Monday.

In its 26th year, the Nancy Lieberman Award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates must exhibit the floor leadership, playmaking, and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Hall-of-Famer Nancy Lieberman.

Against South Carolina, Bueckers became the 14th Husky all-time to reach 500 career assists.

The Hopkins, Minn., native has scored 20+ points in 14 games this season. One of the most efficient guards in the nation, Bueckers is averaging a .534/.408/.888 shooting split while playing 28.7 minutes per game.

Against top-25 opponents this season, Bueckers is averaging 19.3points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.

Bueckers earned the Lieberman Award in 2021, becoming the first freshman to win.

Five Huskies have won the Lieberman Award nine times: Bueckers (2021), Moriah Jefferson (2015, '16), Renee Montgomery (2009), Diana Taurasi (2003, '04) and Sue Bird (2000, '01, '02).

The Huskies (28-3, 18-0 BIG EAST) are the No. 1 seed in this weekend's BIG EAST Tournament at Mohegan Sun. UConn will face either No. 8-seed St. John's (15-14, 5-13) or No. 9-seed Butler (15-16, 5-13) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at noon on FS1.
